My Everyday Makeup Routine

After years of experimenting, countless amounts of money spent, and numerous trials and errors, I can finally say it: I have perfected my everyday makeup routine.

I know—I'm just as surprised as you are.

For the longest time, my makeup routine felt like an ever-evolving project. It was never quite perfect; there was always room for improvement. But then, one day, everything clicked. I found all the products I love, established a practical and speedy order, and genuinely enjoyed the process. If you're anything like me, you might be slightly sceptical. Surely, there’s always a better blush or a more efficient applicator, right? Well, let me share my secrets with you, and you can decide for yourself!

Step 1:

Brows.

I start with my brows. First, I fill them in with a pencil, then carve them out with concealer. My brows are naturally bushy, so I've learned to embrace them as they are, rather than trying to tame them with soap and gel. Instead of splurging on expensive eyebrow products, I rely on the Natural Collection pencil, which I love!

Step 2:

CC Cream.

No foundation here: the IT Cosmetics CC cream does it all for me. I don’t love a super-high coverage base, but I want it to even out my skin tone and add a glow to my face. This CC cream does just that, with the added bonus of skincare ingredients and SPF. It describes itself as “your skin but better” and I certainly agree.

Step 3:

Creams.

I use the Charlotte Tilbury contour stick in tandem with the Rare Beauty liquid blush to create a base for my powder products. They blend seamlessly and are super buildable if I decide to do a more glam look. I place my blush very high up on my cheekbones, as this helps to sculpt and define them. Then, I add an unhinged amount of concealer under my eyes. The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is unbeatable in hiding my very dark under eye bags.

Step 4:

Powders.

Now, to set all of that. I do not like a matte look, so I use the Laura Mercier ‘Light Catcher’ powder. This keeps a dewy sheen to my skin, whilst locking in my concealer and CC cream. Then, comes the iconic NARS Laguna bronzer and Too Faced Cloud Crush blush. Trust me when I say that I have tried every bronzer and blush under the sun, and these are the very best. They work beautifully together and never go patchy throughout the day.

Step 5:

Eyes.

I have dark eyes, so I love lining my waterline in black to accentuate them. The Too Faced Killer Liner is the longest-lasting one I have tried. For mascara, you cannot go wrong with Maybelline Lash Sensational. It cuts above the high-end (expensive) options and I always find myself going back to it.

I don’t tend to wear eyeshadow daily, but will sometimes pop a shimmery champagne pigment in my inner corner. MAC Colour Powder in Vanilla is ideal for this.

Step 6:

Lips.

If you have read my ‘What’s in my Bag’ post, then you will know how obsessed I am with lip products. Particularly, lip balms. These are usually my go-to choice for every day, as they hydrate the skin and you don’t risk getting it on your teeth! Right now, I love Rhode’s Lip Peptide in Vanilla.

Finally, I set it all in place with MAC’s Prep+Prime setting spray. Et Voila – you're done! The perfect, everyday makeup routine – try it and let me know what you think.
